Guild X-175

Well I finally did it. I bought a guitar in exchange for a guitar...I was thinking about this for a long time. Thinking about getting a hollow-body; not necessarily giving up one guitar to get another, but just getting it.

I REALLY didn't want to part with the guitar I gave up. It was a 1980 Les Paul, Black Beauty. I just really need a hollow sound for Winston Troy. I can't afford a good Gibson or a good vintage Gretsch. So, I had to part with one of my guitars to pay for the one I would buy. Happens all the time; you have to cycle through things depending on whatever your current project is.

So when I played this massive 1971 Guild at the store, I found that it has this amazing darkness to it. It is super light to hold and the tone is warm and gospel...Pat says it has Detroit in it. I can feel that, maybe Tennessee.

So, my Les Paul is now on consignment at Main Drag...please give it a good home although it's havin' a party now on the wall with all its new friends...

I wish we could get a cat.
